• Jim is an ideal leader for our time. All his prior accomplishments have brought him to his decision to seek the office of President at the National Association of REALTORS® in 2016.

• Jim served as NAR Treasurer from 2008 to 2010. As Treasurer he managed a $125 million dollar budget with assets exceeding $200 million. Jim did an excellent job communicating the association's finances to its members. As Treasurer, he participated in NAR Leadership team responsibilities and decisions, further preparing him to be President in 2016.

  A Board Member of the REALTORS® Federal Credit Union, Jim has been involved in many of the aspects of starting the first REALTOR® Credit Union. Continuing to serve on the Board allows him ongoing involvement in the management and success of the first and only internet - based credit union in the United States.

  As Chair of the Real Property Operations Committee, Jim led the committee that developed and built the landmark NAR headquarters in Washington, DC, which went into service in 2004. The headquarters was the first privately constructed office building in the city to earn a certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System - obtaining "Silver Certification."

• Jim's passion for the association is part of his family heritage. As a third generation REALTOR®, Jim watched his father, who saw serving the association as a way to give back to the profession that gave so much to their family. Jim feels the personal connection and commitment to association work at the local, state, and national level. Jim's passion for the REALTOR® profession runs deep, and is evident by his many accomplishments and work on behalf of the association over the years.
